With SafeSurfer we have tried to build a site that speaks to kids in a way that provokes discussion, is entertaining, is truly safe and requires no personal or login information. While constructing the site, we searched the Internet high and low to see how other kids sites were operating, because we wanted to make this one the best on the Internet. I think we have. What we noticed was that a lot of sites claimed to be safe and for kids, but were still requiring personal information in the sign-up process. This is something that we wanted to avoid. Although we do require a name and email address to register, this is protected information that would never be shared. Our moderators are vigiliant in their duty to ensure no personal or inappropriate information is ever posted. You can simply enjoy the site and come and go as you please. We are curious about your experiences with similar kids sites that you have been on. Do you usually give out your real name and information on other sites? If so, have you had any bad experiences when doing so? How would you say that SafeSurfer stacks up against the competition? We’d love to hear from you!
