Sputnik — Lost in Space!
Publisher: ParetoLogic Inc.
Release Date: December 04, 2007
Ages: 6-16+ years
Sputnik — Lost in Space!
This is a classic "dodge" type of game. The objective is to help poor Sputnik, who much like the muppets, has become lost in space. Your job is to navigate the screen and try not to get plastered by annoying, giant meteors that will completely ruin your day!
You will need to keep your eyes keen and your wrist agile as you use your mouse's cursor to dodge Sputnik's spacecraft up and down and to and fro, all while avoiding a collision in space!
Fortunately, Sputnik hails from a multi-dimensional universe that affords every inhabitant several lives. However, end up as "grilled cheese" and you will have to answer a SafeSurf'n skill testing question to regain an existence.
Game Rules
The name of the game is to lead Sputnik through space and NOT get smoked by passing meteors. Kind of like dodge ball, except instead of dodging a ball, you are dodging giant rocks made of frozen gas, ice and dust.
Levels
There are 2 levels to test your outer space skills. With both levels you will have to dodge a total of 90 meteors. The difference, and oh there's a difference, is that in level 1 you will only face 6 meteors shooting at you at a time, while in level 2 you will face 10 at a time. Not to mention that they will be coming at you from random locations at random speeds.
Lives
You will have a total of 6 lives to conquer this daunting task. 6 lives, 90 meteors, doesn't seem like great odds. But Sputnik has faith in you.
Questions
If you happen to get clipped by a meteor (it happens) then you will have to pay the price and answer a question. Get the question right and you will proceed without losing a life and won't have to answer another question unless you get hit 3 more times. But get it wrong and you will not only lose a life, but you will be forced to answer another question the very next time you get hit!
Pong! — Got Game?
Publisher: ParetoLogic Inc.
Release Date: December 15, 2007
Ages: 6-16+ years
Pong! — Got Game?
Care for a little game or two of Ping Pong - digitally, that is?
Test your hand-eye coordination and flex your popeye-racquet-muscle with this twist on the old school-classic Atari Pong. Although you won't get as much exercise from playing this version of the game as you would let's say playing table tennis or swinging a Wii paddle, you will still get an opportunity to test your wit and see how well you handle a mouse!
So, ya think ya got game? Well, get ready to serve 'cause the rules are pretty simple — hit the ball across the playing field and try your best to hit it past your opponent's racquet on the other side. If you miss a few Aces, you'll have to answer a few questions...
Game Rules
The rules are simple. Beat the computer to 10 points and you are the winner! The computer (Pong!) rules the left side of the court, and you (Guest) own the right side of the court. Slide your mouse up and down (sorry, no "mouse wheel" on this game), to control the direction of your racquet. With a little quick wrist-action, you can actually put some spin on the ball! So, step into it and use your racquet to send the ball back to where it came from – which is down the computer's throat!
Levels
There are 3 levels to choose from on this one. If you can master level one you are a skilled pong player. If you can beat level two you are better than most people. And if you can take the computer down on level three you are basically the King Kong of Ping Pong!
Lives
You have 10 lives (well, sort of) in this one. That's one more than a cat.
Questions
Even if the crafty computer puts one by you all is not lost. You have a chance to save yourself by answering a true or false question. If you answer the question correctly, the computer's point is nullified. But if you are wrong, chalk one up for your opponent.
Speedo — Womp a Mole!
Publisher: ParetoLogic Inc.
Release Date: January 10, 2008
Ages: 6-16+ years
Speedo — Womp a Mole!
Don't worry, no one will get hurt... not even the cute 'lil fury, woodland creature that you are so insistent on womping into the next millennium!
Speedo and his kin (Becky-Sue, Cousin Earl, Uncle Edsel, and Nephew Bubba Gump) have 16 holes in which to hide; however, there are 50 targets that can appear. The 50 targets are of 6 types — 3 target types award 1 point, 2 target type deducts 1 point from the score, and 1 target type resets the score to 0. Sounds easy, right? Well, to make things a little more challenging, the amount of time the targets are "wompable" is random, ranging from 0.5 to 3 seconds. After all 50 targets have been displayed, the game is over and Speedo can sit back and relax until he is called out again... kinda like "Punxsutawney Phil", but really, not the same.
Anyway, the game has NO reward questions to test your knowledge of Safe Surfing on the Internet. However, there is a spiral thing going on just to make your stomach do backflips! Cool... who doesn't like feeling like they're going to vomit when playing a good ol' fashioned game of Womp a Mole?
Game Rules
Every good mole deserves to be womped, right? Well, not necessarily. In this game only three out of the five moles are fair game. Hint: You want to nail the ones that have their eyes completely open. They are the happier looking ones. You have to be quick though because the moles will pop out of their holes for random times from 0.5 to 3 seconds.
Points
For every legitimate mole you whack you will receive one point. But if you hit one of the off limits moles you will lose a point. And avoid the dynamite sticks at all costs or your score will be reset to zero. There are a total of 50 moles (sorry, that includes the dynamite stick too), and the game will end once the last one has popped out of its hole.
Highest Score
The game will only keep track of your high score for your current session (so, when you close the game... poof!). However, you have unlimited opportunities to try and beat it (if you are into keeping stats, just write it down before you actually quit the game). Anything over 20 points is great!
